Handy tool for exome filtering

NGS-Logistics is a handy tool for additional variant filtering during exome analysis. NGSL gives a great indication of the relative prevalence of the variant of interest in the NGSL population and is straight forward to work with. Another great feature is that other ‘hits’ can be traced back to the original collaborator making it possible to ask for additional information on these samples. In this sense NGSL could be used to start up additional interesting collaborations to get to the bottom of rare-variant cases. Since I work on X-linked disorders, for me it would be interesting to include the sex of the samples in the NGSL database as well because the dynamics of X-linked disorders depends greatly on the sex of the patient. Nevertheless, I am very satisfied with the NGSL database and it has become a standard tool for my exome analyses.
